Special Events

The Epilepsy Association’s calendar of special events tends to vary from year to year. However, one event that has been held for the last few years is the Purple Day Gala. Variously called “A Purple Prelude”, “A Purple Interlude” or “A Purple Postlude” depending on when it is held in relation to Purple Day, March 26, the Gala provides an opportunity for guests to dress in their best purple and enjoy a gourmet dinner, dancing to a DJ and a Silent Auction offering an eclectic selection of items for their browsing – and bidding – pleasure.

Volunteers are needed to assist with the planning of the event, to round up donations for the Silent Auction and to attend on the night to help ensure that everything runs smoothly. Planning the Gala starts in the late Fall, with the event taking place usually on the closest Friday or Saturday to Purple Day (March 26).
