Fund Raising Events

Sunflower Campaign:  This is an annual fundraising and education campaign taking place throughout the month of June.  The campaign involves three initiatives - the door-to-door canvassing in Nova Scotia communities, HRM public school education programs, and the delivery of fresh cut sunflowers to Halifax businesses.

Fun Curl:  This event takes place at the Mayflower Curling Club in Halifax.  Teams collect pledges and compete in such fun activities as “closest to the button” contests.  An auction follows the curling and refreshments are served.

Bowlathon:  A fundraiser with our members in mind.  A great way to spend an afternoon in early winter.  Prizes are awarded and refreshments served.

Quilt Raffle:  A queen size quilt is raffled each year.  Tickets are sold all around the province through our members and friends.  The quilt is also ‘on the road’ a great deal visiting our community action groups, shopping malls, exhibitions, etc.

Maple Syrup:  Have we got a sweet deal for you!  Each March maple syrup from the valley is sold in 4L cans, 1L jugs and 500g tubs of maple butter.  Delivery is in April.  Download the order form now!

Cookbooks:  “The Best of Recipes III” is available for $6.00 at our office.  A great gift for a friend or a welcome addition to your own cookbook collection.

Casual Days:  Businesses, schools, government offices, etc. take part in this ongoing fund raiser.  Give us a call to get involved.

Sunflower Coin Boxes:  These are available to be placed in your local store.  They provide exposure for our association as well as much needed funds.

Air Show:  Each year volunteers sell souvenirs at the Nova Scotia International Air Show in Shearwater.  We are paid for volunteer hours.  A great way to see the show and help us.  Join us for a fun day.
