The Canadian Epilepsy Alliance

The Canadian Epilepsy Alliance (CEA) is a Canada wide network of grassroots organizations dedicated to the promotion of independence and quality of life for people with epilepsy and their families, through support services, information, advocacy, and public awareness.
The Canadian Epilepsy Alliance includes rural, urban, local, and provincial incorporated Epilepsy Associations from coast to coast in Canada. We currently have member associations in Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia.

Purple Day – The Global Day of Epilepsy Awareness

Purple Day is an international grassroots effort dedicated to increasing awareness about epilepsy worldwide. On March 26th annually, people in countries around the world are invited to wear purple and host events in support of epilepsy awareness. In 2011, people in dozens of countries (on all continents except Antarctica) participated in Purple Day, and the number of participants grows each year.

The Canadian League Against Epilepsy (CLAE) is an organization of medical professionals and basic scientists whose goal is to improve epilepsy care and awareness, and encourage basic science and clinical research in epilepsy. Members include physicians, basic scientists, nurses, neuropsychologists, neuroradiologists and other medical professionals, and CLAE works closely with the lay organizations including the Canadian Epilepsy Alliance.

The Canadian MedicAlert® Foundation is a charitable organization which is the leading provider of emergency medical information services linked to customized medical bracelets and necklets. We are pleased to be able to offer MedicAlert memberships to students (from age 4 to their 14th birthday) through the No Child Without® program in select schools. The financial support of the Government of Canada and Lions Clubs allows students to receive the MedicAlert membership for FREE.

Lions Foundation of Canada – Seizure Response Dogs Program
Since 1983, the lives of over 1200 men, women and children from the age of 8 to 84 have been enriched by the services of specially trained Dog Guides from Lions Foundation of Canada. These Dog Guide "handlers", from as far east as St. John's, Newfoundland, and as far west as Victoria, BC., have experienced the enrichment of their lives through newfound freedom and independence with the companionship and assistance of a devoted Dog Guide partner.
